DMR is a relatively new evolution in Amateur radio. D-Star was the first, and in its time was groundbreaking. DMR has found its way into amateur radio from the commercial world. MOTOTRBO is a Motorola digital radio product marketed primarily to business users. The format is based on, and compatible with the European 2-slot DMR standard and uses Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) to effectively accommodate two simultaneous users.
