Customer Programming Software (CPS) provides a programming interface between a PC and a DMR radio. It usually comes with the radio or can be downloaded at no cost from the manufacturer. The software allows you to program radios with configuration files called codeplugs. A codeplug is a repository of configuration data for a radio. It includes features (also the selling features) and
adjustable parameters.
CPS enables you to easily manage radio software updates. A typical software package contains platform-specific software components: firmware, codeplugs, language packs, and selling features. Such packages, for all available platforms, are bundled in release packets and delivered on a disk or online. You can import release packets directly to CPS Plus and use the normally bundled
software to upgrade radios.
If a USB driver is required for your PC, chances are the software will install required drives when loaded.
